Maggie Wise graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from the University of Wisconsin. She has over twenty years of experience teaching music and theatre to children and young adults across the country.

Maggie lives in Mayfield Village with Rob Ross and their daughter, Olive. They belong to Temple Tifereth where they both song-lead for services ranging from Tot-Shabbat to Havdalah.

Bringing families together through making music fun and joyful is at the heart of Maggie’s aspirations both professionally and personally.

Maggie believes introducing music to young children involves a multi-sensory approach through incorporating movement, dramatics, instrument exploration, creative play, active listening, singing, and storytelling.  “Music is not just about singing songs.  Music can be a tool to learn about the world and who you are in it. Exploring music encourages self discovery, self-expression, confidence, and also prepares a child to develop the academic and the social skills needed for success in Kindergarten and beyond.”

Locally, Maggie has taught at Stagecrafters Youth Theatre, was an adjunct theatre professor at Lakeland Community College, was a music specialist for Kindermusik of Cleveland, and had a private music studio teaching piano, guitar and voice.

She is an early childhood music specialist at Ganon Gil and is a songleader for families with young children at the Temple Tifereth Israel.  She also teaches music at  Mandel Jewish Day School, JCC Preschool, and Park Synagogue.

When Maggie is not “Morah Maggie”, she likes to read, go on walks, see theatre and eat chocolate peanut butter ice cream.
