Ximena is serving her second year as a Trustee of the Board of the Temple Tifereth Israel. She is a member of the Temple Museum Committee and previously served on the Senior Rabbi Search Committee. She became a Jew by choice 30 years ago and celebrated her adult Bat Mitzvah at the Temple.
Ximena, a native of Chile, has lived in the USA since 1974, in Cleveland since 2007. She is a retired physician and enjoys spending time in volunteer work, including as a docent of the Cleveland Museum of Art, tutoring at the Thomas Jefferson International Newcomers Academy (a program that the Temple Social Action committee oversees) and as co-chair of the Programs committee of the Print Club of Cleveland.
Her husband, Professor Daniel Sessler, is Chair of the Department of Outcomes Research at the Cleveland Clinic. Ximena and Dan live in Hunting Valley; two daughters and one grand-daughter live out of state.
