Shabbaton is an innovative alternative to Sunday Religious School, which provided Jewish education for the entire family. It is an opportunity to spend quality Jewish time together, learn in a warm, informal atmosphere and create memories that will last a lifetime. This Saturday afternoon program meetings from 3:00-5:30 pm and is geared for families with children in grades pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. Shabbaton includes separate adult study, grade level cohorts, family learning and whole group worship and singing.
In addition, all Shabbaton students also take Hebrew Studies in third through sixth grade either during Parent Child Classes on Saturdays from 1:30-2:44 or Wednesday afternoons from 4:00-5:30 pm. Siblings younger than four years old have a separate play program on Saturday afternoon called ShabbaTots. ShabbaTeens is for older siblings of children still enrolled in Shabbaton with their parent(s) where they serve as Madrichim (teaching assistants) in Shabbaton classrooms. They also have a designated teacher with whom they study independently for part of each session.
