From The Rabbi’s Desk: The Coronavirus and Us


As of this writing (March 16), we are witnessing the rapid expansion of the coronavirus and the toll it is inflicting. We do not yet have widespread testing, and so we are not in a position to know just how serious the situation is and how long the crisis will last. Schools and businesses and restaurants and concerts and sports events all have shut down, and we find ourselves thrown into a kind of emotional imbalance not knowing just what even tomorrow will bring. A feeling of passivity, of helplessness, and of debilitating isolation has come over us.
