POSTPONED: Through the Eyes of the Artist: Klimt
January 18 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
“Through the Eyes of the Artist: Klimt” program has been postponed due to illness of our presenter, Felicia Zavarella Stadelman. Information about the rescheduled date and time will be shared when it is available. We send our caring thoughts and prayers for Felicia’s recovery.
The Temple Chai Lifers presents: “Through the Eyes of the Artist” series presented on zoom by highly regarded Art Historian Felicia Zavarella Stadelman
Stadelman concentrates each lecture on a single artist. She expands our knowledge of each artist through their letters and journals which offer glimpses into their lives, loves and longings, their hearts and minds – reforming what we know about them and their works of art.
Gustav Klimt – Klimt was an Austrian symbolist painter and one of the most prominent members of the Vienna Art Nouveau ( Secession movement). Klimt is noted for his paintings, murals, sketches, and other Objects d’art. Klimt was considered a controversial figure in his time; his work was constantly criticized for being too sensual. Today, they stand out as a “visual symphony” and are regarded as the most important paintings ever to come out of Vienna.
