The Good Food Revolution: Growing Healthy Food, People, and Communities by Will Allen
Will Allen’s inspirational memoir chronicles his struggle to transform abandoned greenhouses in one of Milwaukee’s poorest neighborhoods into a thriving, innovative urban farm that provided fresh food to thousands of people. Allen began as the son of sharecroppers to become a professional basketball player, then corporate executive, before cashing in his retirement to start an urban farming revolution across the country. We’ll discuss how Allen’s book addresses the impact of disparities in access to healthful food as a result of systemic racism.
